Now a days birthday parties are varied from person to person, age to age,
economy, rural culture etc. but typically it is seen that in every birthday
parties there is a big birthday cake. In our country the black forest is the
most favored one. Besides, black forest few more are also served as birthday
cake like vanilla, caramel, triple chocolate cherry etc. matching with the age,
same number of candles are decorated round the cake or sometimes
just 1 candle is used. Cake is served with light refreshment and soft drinks.
Many of us are now arranging dinner at night on birthdays. Some serve rich food
like Kacchi Biriyani, and/or Polao with beef or mutton rejala or fried rice with
chicken fry. Or some serve different fast food like crispy chicken fry with
sandwich, or burger with soft drinks. In between there are music, indoor games
(especially for children) like hide and seek, puzzle game, jokes party etc.
But from last
couple of year some families are arranging birthday parties in different party
center or café or food corner like Pizza Hut, KFC, BFC, American Burger etc. to
avoid the hassle of arrangement or lack of places at home.
In the rural
areas/suburbs birthday party is quite different. In villages there is usually
Milad/Dua at the beginning and afterwards cake, chanachur, banana/apple/orange,
singara/somucha/nimki, sweet/ jilapi/ any other sweet desert are served
together. Lemon juice (Lebur shorbot) is also served with those refreshment.
