Description Great sweet vermicelli treat.

  • 1 stick butter
  • 2 handfuls very fine vermicelli
  • 4 cups of milk
  • 1 handful of raisins
  • 4 tbsp of sugar
  • 8-10 almonds peeled and thinly sliced.
Methods/steps
  1. Melt the butter in a pot at a low heat.
  2. Break up the vermicelli and stir into the butter.
  3. When it turns gold-brown add the milk and stir increasing the heat until it boils.
  4. Add the sugar, raisins and almonds.
  5. Cook for 10 minutes at a low heat.
  6. Remove and allow to cool.
Additional Tips
Chill Shemai in the refrigerator in order to serve fast.
